Virtual Conference for British Columbia Educators for Distributed Learning

British Columbia Educators for Distributed Learning (BCEDL) works to plan, facilitate, support, and organize professional learning opportunities for their members. BCEDL works to give educators options for exploring and learning about including digital environments into their teaching practice.

Event goals

  • Host the 2021 Blended Digital Ed Conference, a day-long professional development event with over 200 attendees and stakeholders in K-12 BC education

  • Run multiple concurrent sessions relating to topics such as digital learning and inclusivity and give attendees the freedom to join whichever workshops are of interest to them

  • Feature sponsored vendors throughout the event

Frameable Events experience

  • Designed an event with a Stage for the conference opening, 11 hybrid rooms for concurrent workshops, and a Lounge for networking

  • Closed all rooms aside from the Sponsor Lounge during the conference lunch break, allowing attendees to network, interact with sponsors, win prizes, and participate in a demo slam, where educators shared their favorite digital tools

  • Enabled host-only chat to minimize distractions and interruptions throughout the conference
